Full Slate

Your picks, your privacy

Privacy Policy

Full Slate is a football confidence pick 'em game for private groups of friends. This policy covers our iPhone app, browser app, and early-access website. We use account and gameplay data to run your pools, PostHog analytics and crash reports to understand and improve the iPhone app, and Google AdMob to show ads in the iPhone app. We never give advertisers your name, e-mail address, picks or messages.

What we collect

Account. When you sign in with Apple or with an e-mail code, we store your e-mail address (or the private relay address Apple gives you) and a user ID we generate. If you sign in with Apple and share your name, we suggest it as your display name; you choose the name that is shown to your pools, and you can change it any time in Profile.

Display name. The name you pick is visible to the members of every pool you join. It is the only name the app shows anyone.

Your play. Your picks, confidence ranks, tiebreaker guesses, lock-in decisions where available, weekly and season scores, pool names and memberships, and poke messages you send to other members. Picks are hidden from other pool members until the week locks at its first kickoff; after that, members of your pool can see each other's picks for that week.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store the device push token Apple gives us so we can send reminders, pokes, results, and the live ticker. The token identifies your device to Apple's push service, not you by name. Turning notifications off in Settings stops them.

Device and app details. We receive your app version with notification registrations. Our hosting and service providers also receive technical information when your device connects, such as its IP address and request details, to deliver and protect the service.

Support. If you contact us, we receive your e-mail address and the messages, screenshots, or diagnostic information you choose to send. Please do not send passwords or sign-in codes.

PostHog analytics and crash reports

We use PostHog in the iPhone app to understand which features people use and investigate crashes. It records app lifecycle events, such as opening or updating the app, and actions such as creating or joining a pool, submitting picks, opening a matchup, confirming a lock-in, and sending a poke. These events can include pool and game IDs, season and week, submission counts, timestamps, app version and build, and device and operating-system details.

PostHog uses a generated identifier before sign-in. After sign-in, we identify your activity using your Full Slate user ID; earlier activity can be associated with that ID. This is account-linked analytics, not anonymous data. Our custom event fields do not include your name, e-mail address, individual pick selections, or message text. Crash reports can include technical error details and stack traces, and are sent on a subsequent app launch.

Session replay and automatic screen-view capture are disabled. We do not record videos of your screen or use PostHog for cross-app advertising. PostHog receives network information, including your IP address; approximate location can be derived from it depending on the project's settings. We do not request access to your device's precise location.

The current iPhone build starts analytics automatically and does not yet offer an in-app analytics switch. Signing out resets the analytics identity on that device; it does not stop collection or erase events already received. See Deleting your data for requests about existing records.

Ads in the iPhone app (Google AdMob)

The free iPhone app shows ads from Google AdMob, drawn as cards marked AD on the Games, Board and Season screens. Ads are never shown in the website, the browser app, or the early-access pages.

To serve and measure ads, Google's software in the app receives information from your device: device and app details (such as model, operating-system version and app version), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, and how you interact with ads (views and taps). Google uses this to choose ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance, and prevent fraud. We do not send Google your Full Slate account details, display name, e-mail address, picks, pools or messages.

Full Slate does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so Apple's advertising identifier is not available to AdMob. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent form asks before ads are personalized and you can change your choice in the app; elsewhere, Google may personalize ads using the information it receives, as described in Google's privacy policy. You can limit ad tracking in your device's Settings.

What we do not collect

We do not request access to your contacts, photo library, or precise device location, and neither we nor our ad provider collect Apple's advertising identifier. Full Slate currently has no purchases and does not collect payment details. Information you choose to include in a support message is received as part of that message.

Why we collect it

We use this information to sign you in, manage pool membership, save and score picks, show standings, deliver notifications, respond to support requests, and protect the service. Analytics and crash reports help us understand feature use and improve reliability. Ads keep the app free. If you join the early-access list, we use that information for the beta invitation or launch update you choose, as described below.

Where it goes

These services process information to provide their respective functions. Processing may take place outside your country. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to respond to abuse or protect people's rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the device information Google's ad software receives directly in the iPhone app (described above), we do not share your information for advertising.

Who can see what

Members of a pool see each other's display names, picks after the week locks, scores, and standings. Pool commissioners can also see who has and has not submitted. Poke recipients see the messages sent to them. Pool play is not published as a public leaderboard, but members can copy or share what they see. We and the service providers above can process data as needed to operate and support Full Slate.

On a Sunday Slate, anyone with the link can see the display names in it and, as games are played, their scores and standings. Each player's picks stay sealed until the first kickoff; after that, they are visible to the slate's players and to people who have added their e-mail to follow it. E-mail addresses are never shown to other players.

How long we keep it

Account and gameplay records remain while your account exists, unless the relevant pool or records are deleted. Leaving a pool removes your membership, but does not delete your past picks, results, or standings from that pool's records.

Analytics, crash reports, support correspondence, waitlist submissions, and service logs are stored separately from your gameplay records. Their retention depends on the relevant service's settings and any applicable legal requirements; deleting your Full Slate account does not automatically delete all of these records. Backup copies may remain until the provider's backup retention period ends. Contact us about retention or deletion of a particular record.

Deleting your data

Profile → Delete account in the iPhone or browser app removes your sign-in account and associated profile, picks, scores, memberships, and notification registrations from the active app database. Pools you own with no other members are also deleted. If you own a pool with other members, transfer ownership or delete that pool before deleting your account. The iPhone app also attempts to revoke its Sign in with Apple authorization.

This account-deletion action does not currently send a deletion request to PostHog or remove a separate early-access signup. To request deletion of analytics, crash, waitlist, or support records, e-mail support@thefullslate.app and tell us which records your request concerns. We may need to verify your identity. Signing out or uninstalling the app alone does not delete information already held by our services.

You can also leave a single pool from the pool's page, or e-mail support@thefullslate.app to ask us to delete your account for you.

The website

The browser app. Signing in in your browser uses the same Full Slate account and gameplay backend as the iPhone app. The browser uses local storage to keep you signed in and save unfinished picks on that browser. Signing out clears that account's local drafts and sign-in session. Clearing your browser's site data also removes local copies; it does not delete submitted picks or your account. The website and browser app do not currently include the PostHog SDK; the PostHog collection described above applies to the iPhone app.

The Sunday Slate. The Sunday Slate at thefullslate.app/c can be played without a Full Slate account. When you lock in a card, we store the display name you choose, your e-mail address and your picks, along with an anonymous browser sign-in that keeps you connected to your card. If you follow a slate you did not play, we store your e-mail address. We use these e-mails only for that slate: a confirmation when you lock in, a note when the games start, the final result, and an invitation if a player starts next week's slate with the same group. Every one of these e-mails has a link to stop them. E-mail support@thefullslate.app to delete your Sunday Slate details.

Early access. The public homepage is an early-access signup, not an account-registration form. If you join, Netlify stores the first name, e-mail address, and beta-invitation or launch-update preference you submit. We use those details only for the option you choose, not as consent to unrelated marketing. Delivering your chosen message or a TestFlight invitation may involve our e-mail provider or Apple. E-mail support@thefullslate.app to withdraw your signup or request its deletion.

Children

Full Slate is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 13, and meet any higher minimum age required where you live, to create an account or join the early-access list. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and arrange its deletion.

Your rights

You can change your display name in Profile, manage notification permissions in your device settings, and request account deletion as described above. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal data, object to its use, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to your local data-protection authority.

Send requests to support@thefullslate.app. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and will respond within the time required by applicable law. Contacting support does not automatically change the iPhone app's analytics settings.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change, and provide additional notice or request consent where required. The current policy is available here without signing in.
